Am Anfang war die Kohlefadenlampe – sowohl bei Thomas Alva Edison als auch bei Radium.
1904 wurde die Firma Radium in Wipperfürth, rund 40 km nordöstlich von Köln im Bergischen Land gelegen, gegründet. Schon wenig später
produzierte man hier Lampen mit hochwertigen Wolframdrähten.
Mit seinem Know-how avancierte Radium schnell zu einem der bedeutendsten Unternehmen der Region und zählt heute zu den erfahrensten
Markenartikelherstellern der Lampenindustrie.

At the beginning was the carbon filament lamp – with Thomas Alva Edison as well as with Radium.
Radium was founded in 1904 in Wipperfürth, situated abt. 40 km north-east from Cologne in the ‘Bergische Land’. Already a short time later the
production of lamps with high-quality tungsten wires started here.
Due to its know-how Radium advanced fast to one of the most important companies of the region and nowadays counts among one of the most
experienced brand-name manufacturers of the lamp industry.

A l’origine il y avait la lampe à filament de carbone – non seulement chez Thomas Alva Edison mais aussi chez Radium.
En 1904, la société Radium fût fondée à Wipperfürth, environ 40 km au nord-est de Cologne dans le ‘Bergische Land’. Peu de temps après, on
commençait à y fabriquer des lampes à filament de tungstène de haute qualité.
Avec son savoir-faire la société Radium se créa à se faire une position très importante parmi les entreprises dans la région. Aujourd’hui, Radium
compte parmi les entreprises les plus expérimentées dans la production d’articles de marque dans l’industrie de lampes.
